In these last days before ASU's Fall Break, we celebrate music making for all ages.  First, Tuesday evening marks the debut performance by the Hayes School's Community Music School ensemble, the Appalachian Youth Chorale.  Thirty elementary-middle school age singers from Watauga County and environs will light up the Rosen stage.  Then, later Tuesday evening, legendary saxophonist Phil Woods performs in the Schaefer Center with the HSoM's Jazz Ensemble I and our jazz faculty....

On Tuesday, October 7 at 8 pm, Appalachian's Office of Arts and Cultural Programs and the Hayes School of Music will present the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra and the North Carolina Symphony at the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts.  The NC Symphony will perform works by Mozart (including the Jupiter Symphony), Glinka, Delibes, and Brahms, and the concert will conclude with the ASO joining the NCS for a side-by-side performance of Wagner's Prelude to Die Miestersinger. Tickets...
