Hayes School of Music Coronavirus Updates
edited November 30, 2020
Appalachian State University's top priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, faculty, staff and prospective students. As concern around COVID-19 grows, we are working closely with local and state public health agencies, as well as the UNC System, to keep our campus as safe as possible.
We are actively practicing social distancing in the Hayes School of Music Office, which requires an adjustment to our normal hours and methods of operation. Beginning Monday, March 23rd, the Hayes School of Music Office can be reached by emailing email@example.com or calling 828-262-3020 from 9:00 to 5:00. During this time period, the best means of communication will be our email address.
We look forward to continuing our work with our students through alternate methods of instructional delivery and to the time when Rosen Concert Hall and Schaffel Recital Hall, as well as our classrooms, studios, and practice can be filled with the sounds of music!
Broyhill Music Center Hours of Operation
The Broyhill Music Center will be available to students, faculty, and staff through the scheduled exam period. See the Facilities Schedule below for specific hours of operation through the beginning of the Spring semester.
From Saturday, Dec. 19 through Sunday, Jan. 3, the building will be locked. Faculty may enter with their keys.
Faculty and staff are asked to complete the Semester Break Building Activity Log when visiting the building from 11/25 through 1/18. (This form is visible only to HSOM faculty and staff logged into their Appstate.edu Gmail accounts.)
Details about end-of-semester procedures specific to students, faculty, and staff can be found in emails from Dr. Jackson.
For campus-wide information, visit the university’s Holiday and Winter Break Departure and Return Plan.
