The Hayes School of Music faculty recital on Monday, September 24 at 8 pm in Broyhill Music Center's Rosen Concert Hall will feature Jon Beebe, bassoon, with Christina Hayes, piano, Nancy Schneeloch-Bingham, flute, Alicia Chapman, oboe, and Lynn Beebe, clarinet.
The program spans over 250 years, with roots in France, Italy, Germany, and the U.S. Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Previn both emigrated to the U.S. to avoid Fascism and Naziism, respectively and found success working in the film industry in Hollywood. A noted teacher, Castelnuovo-Tedesco's many pupils included Henry Mancini, Nelson Riddle, John Williams, and André Previn.
