Faculty Recital Series - "A Musical Potpourri"
The Hayes School of Music's Faculty Recital Series opens spring series with "A Musical Potpourri" featuring performances by 11 members of the music faculty.
Clarinetist Douglas Miller opens with recital with his arrangement of the "Allegro molto" from Camille Saint-Saëns' "Sonata in D Minor, Op. 75."
Soprano Linda Larson, flutist Kay Borkowski and pianist Bair Shagdaron will perform "A Love Song" and "Lyric" by André Previn.
"Ricercar No. 5" by Domenico Gabrielli and "Sarabande" from " Suite No. 5, BWV 1011" by Johann Sebastian Bach will be performed on the Baroque cello by Corinne Cassini.
Bassoonist Jon Beebe will perform Williams Davis's "Serenade."
Also on the program is "Triangles" by John Stevens performed by Karen L. Robertson, horn, Drew Leslie, trombone, and Christopher Blaha, tuba.
Mezzo soprano Priscilla Porterfield is featured on the Johannes Brahms' compositions "Wenn du nur zuweilen lächelst, Op. 57, No. 2" and "O liebliche wangen, Op. 47, No. 4." She will be accompanied by pianist Rodney Reynerson.
Reynerson also will perform "Prelude in C-sharp Minor, Op. 3, No. 2" by Sergei Rachmaninoff and "Toccata" by Aram Khatchaturian.
