Justin Butler earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music performance from Appalachian’s Hayes School of Music. He teaches in the music school’s Community Music School, and at Milligan College and Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. Butler began performing professionally at age 16, playing solo guitar recitals, small ensemble performances and with jazz combos. He has performed at major venues across the U.S., Canada and Japan.

The program includes three selections from Bach’s “Suite BWV 997,” “Etude No. 11” by Heitor Villa-Lobos, “Verano Porteno” by Astor Piazzolla, and compositions by Django Reinhardt and Agustin Barrios. Butler also will perform his composition “Amusipik.”
