The Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC is proud to welcome the 5th Annual International William Adam Trumpet Festival, held on July 18–21, 2019. Hosted by Dr. James Stokes Jr., Professor of Trumpet, and Mr. Brent Bingham, the annual gathering offers opportunities to perform and learn from multi-generational students of the legendary trumpet pedagogue while honoring the legacy of William Adam.
The festival will involve a “Who’s Who” of students of William Adam, many of whom are among the top trumpet artists in the world. In addition to master classes, concerts and free lessons, there will be a seminar dedicated to specific problem solving and classes for the next generation of colleagues. Brass vendors will also be on hand with information and merchandise.
Special guest artist Chris Botti, a Grammy Award-winning trumpeter and composer, will present a live concert on Friday, July 19 at 8pm at the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts as part of An Appalachian Summer Festival. Free events open to the public include a Festival Recital on Friday, July 19 at 2pm and the Festival Jazz Ensemble on Saturday, July 20 at 7:30pm. Both concerts will take place at the Hayes School of Music.
