Music Notes, April 4, 2016

Kudos and Other News and Events

At its late March meeting, the ASU Board of Trustees awarded HSoM faculty clarinetist Andrea Cheeseman and music theorist Jennifer Snodgrass with promotion to Professor, and music therapist Christine Leist and trombonist Drew Leslie with tenure and promotion to Associate Professor.

The ASU Board of Trustees has named HSoM music education specialist Liz Rose professor emerita, effective upon her retirement later this academic year.

HSoM students represented us very well at the recent National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competitions. In the NC statewide event, Remy Martin placed first in senior men, Nicole Barone was second in senior women, Ethan Garner was second in junior men, and Grayson Milholin was second in freshman men. At the Mid-Atlantic Regionals (which include Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina) Ethan Garner placed third and Remy first. Additionally, Remy Martin was selected the best male singer at both competitions.

With best wishes for the twelfth week of the spring 2016 semester,

Bill
