- Brass Studio Ensembles perform on Wednesday, November 4, at 6 pm, in Rosen.
- Jazz Ensemble I performs on Wednesday, November 4, at 8 pm, in the Schaefer Center.
- University and Chamber Singers perform Friday, November 6, at 8 pm, in Rosen.
- The HSoM's Showcase Concert "A Night with the Hayes School of Music" will occur on Monday, November 9, at 7:45 pm, in Winston-Salem's Stevens Center. (See "On the Road" below.)

- Guest artist guitarist Joseph Pecoraro will perform in recital on Tuesday, November 10, at 8 pm in the Recital Hall.
- Guest artist ensemble the Richter/Uzer Duo will perform in recital on Wednesday, November 11, at 6 pm, in the Recital Hall.
- Opera Scenes will be performed on Friday and Saturday, November 13 and 14, at 8 pm, in Rosen.

- On November 6, Jennifer Snodgrass and Reeves Shulstad will present a poster entitled "Beginning at the Source: Preliminary Action in Redesigning the Core Curriculum" at the national meeting of the College Music Society.
- HSoM alumna Joanna Pepple will present "Sustaining a Musical Pedagogy across Continents: The Leipzig Conservatory and its Impact on American Musical Institutions" at the College Music Society National Conference, November 7, 2015.
- The Hayes School of Music has been invited by the North Carolina Music Educators Association to present four ensembles—University Singers, Jazz Ensemble I, Symphony Orchestra, and Wind Ensemble—in a showcase concert as part of the Association's annual conference on Monday, November 9, at 7:30 pm, in Winston-Salem's Stevens Center.
Kudos and Other News and Events
- At last week's annual meeting of the Society for Music Theory, HSoM music theorist Jennifer Snodgrass and Youngstown State's Jena Root announced that Appalachian State University will be the new home for the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy, including hosting of all back issues of print journals, resources, and E-Journal. Thanks and congratulations go out to Dr. Snodgrass and colleagues in ASU Information Technology Services for their work to welcome JMTP to our community. The website and all contents will be live as of January 1, 2016.
- HSoM music theorist and composer Bill Harbinson will serve as composer-in-residence at the Durham High School for the Arts on November 3. Bill will rehearse bands, meet with theory classes, and guest conduct an evening concert dedicated to his compositions.
- HSoM music theorist and composer Bill Harbinson will conduct the Charlotte Concert Band in a premier of his commissioned work, "Hornets' Nest" during the NCMEA conference in Winston-Salem on Sunday, November 8 (8 pm). The work was commissioned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the ensemble.
- The Reagan High School Band will perform Bill Harbinson's concert march, "The Great Communicator" during the NCMEA conference in Winston-Salem on Tuesday, November 10. The march was commissioned 10 years ago to celebrate the opening of the school.
- HSoM music therapy alumna and member of the HSoM Advisory Board Jessica Hoyle has published a blog post, invited by Oxford University Press, related to her research on adults with intellectual disabilities and their experiences with death.
