As we begin week five under brilliant blue skies, we mourn the loss of Charles Isley, professor emeritus. His life and passionate dedication to music will continue to serve as models for us as we look toward the next generations of music makers. Services for Dr. Isley will include visiting hours with his family on Friday from 5-7 pm at Hampton Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life at Boone United Methodist on Saturday at 5:30 pm.

Jay Jackson has worked throughout the summer to coordinate activities and logistics related to the event, and we will be providing information to HSoM colleagues as plans are finalized. I hope that all will consider attending the NCMEA conference and the concert, as a way of supporting our students and future recruitment efforts for the Hayes School.
