DegreeWorks

DegreeWorks is the University's web-based degree audit tool that facilitates the monitoring of students' academic progress toward degree completion.  DegreeWorks helps students with catalog year 2009 or after Finish in Four.   All faculty members that have been approved for advisor security within our student information system will have access to DegreeWorks.

General Education Program

About one-third of the courses students will take at Appalachian will be General Education courses.  Being able to assist students navigate the General Education Program is an important component of advising within the Hayes School of Music.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended (FERPA), Appalachian State University is restricted in releasing student information without the consent of the student. The statute also gives the student the right to inspect his or her education records, and to place additional limits on the disclosure of those records.
