Leslie Harker serves as the Administrative Coordinator for Cannon Music Camp in the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University, where she assists with camp operations, recruitment, and administrative tasks throughout the year. She committed to sustaining Cannon’s vibrant tradition while expanding its impact, creating access and opportunity for young people with a passion for music.
Previously, Leslie worked in arts administration as the Education Intern for Blumenthal Arts, coordinating community arts events for the Charlotte area as well as theater programs that promoted literacy for youth in Mecklenburg County. Beyond this, her work in event management and customer service honed her talents in orchestrating seamless events, crafting engaging social media campaigns, and creating collaborative marketing initiatives that inspire connection and creativity. Leslie’s passion for graphic design and visual branding is a central approach for all projects.
Leslie is a proud alumna of Appalachian State University, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Music Industry Studies with a concentration in Marketing and Promotion, with minors in General Business and Dance Studies. Before attending Appalachian, she completed the University of North Carolina School of the Arts High School Program in Classical Voice, where she trained under distinguished faculty in a conservatory setting. She is thrilled to be continuing her education at Appalachian State, pursuing her Master’s in Choral Conducting.
