Friday-Thursday, May 6-12, is Final Exam Week.
The Hayes School of Music Advisory Board meets Friday, May 13, at 9 am.
The Hooding Ceremony for recipients of Master of Music—Performance and Master of Music Therapy degrees will occur on Friday, May 13, at 1 pm, in the BMC Recital Hall.
The Hayes School of Music Commencement Ceremony for recipients of undergraduate and master's degrees will occur on Friday, May 13, at 3 pm, in Rosen.
Monday, May 16, is the last day for faculty to submit grades.
Looking Ahead
Summer Session I begins on Tuesday, May 24.
Cannon Music Camp begins on Saturday, June 25.
Summer Session II begins on Thursday, June 30.
University Convocation will occur on Monday, August 15, at 10 am, in the Holmes Convocation Center.
Fall 2016 classes begin on Tuesday, August 16.
Kudos and Other News and Events
Master of Music Therapy student Alexa Dorris won the ASU 2016 Outstanding Thesis Award for Arts and Humanities.
Master of Music-Trumpet student David Marvel won the ASU 2016 Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award and was named to the Cratis Williams Society of Outstanding Graduates.
HSoM Music Education specialist Suzi Mills and Master of Music Therapy student Katie Komorek have been award a grant for their project River and Mountain Resources: Cultural Sustainability through Musical Collaboration. The grant funded by the Appalachian State University Sustainability Council will help fund a partnership to link Music Education students, Mountain Pathways School students, Appalachian traditional musicians, and musicians from the Nile River region of Africa throughout the 2016-2017 academic year.
