
Catie Yodis is a lecturer of music therapy in the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University. She teaches courses such as Practicum, Clinical Skills, and Supervision, and holds responsibilities with directing the Music Therapy Clinic. Professor Yodis became a board-certified music therapist and Neurologic Music Therapist in 2023. She primarily works with individuals with neurologic disorders, adults with intellectual and developmental disorders, and children, adolescents, and adults with mental and behavioral health needs.
Before joining the faculty at Appalachian State University, Professor Yodis worked as a full time music therapist and internship supervisor at The Sonatina Center in Dover, New Hampshire. During her time as a graduate student, she worked as a practicum supervisor and part time music therapist at the Interprofessional Clinic at Appalachian State.
Professor Yodis earned a Master of Music Therapy and Bachelor of Music Therapy degrees from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor of Religion and Theology. Practicing from a person-centered approach, she is passionate about being a witness to her clients' experiences and is honored to support their autonomy and expression. Professor Yodis is proud to support current and future music therapy students in bringing their authenticity and empathy into the field!
