Mrs. Sally Booker is the Arts Production Specialist at the Hayes School of Music, Appalachian State University. At Appalachian State, she has collaborated with the Opera Program and served as a pianist for faculty and student recitals. Prior to Boone, she was the Director of Music at St. John’s Church in Duluth, MN, taught Elementary Music and Children’s Chorus at St. John’s School, and was a Voice and Piano Instructor at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. In 2016, she accompanied a lecture-recital at the BassEuro convention in Prague.
Mrs. Booker also taught at Texas State University-San Marcos, where she led courses such as Voice Class and Aural Learning, worked as a collaborative pianist, and served as an Opera Coach. Her performance highlights include being a semi-finalist for the Heafner-Williams Vocal Competition in 2017, performing in productions such as Hansel and Gretel, Amahl and the Night Visitors, and The Wizard of Oz. She has extensive experience in various musical roles, including co-music directing Grease and acting as assistant music director of Annie Get Your Gun.
Mrs. Booker holds a Master's in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor's in Piano Performance from Texas State University-San Marcos. With over 20 years of experience in collaboration, directing, and performing, she thrives on stage as a vocalist, pianist, and ensemble member. Sally resides in the Boone area with her family.
