Just three more days separate us from the end of classes for Fall 2015. We'll look forward to our final three concerts of the semester, and then, following Finals Week, we'll celebrate with our December graduates. (See Events and Looking Ahead below.)

Greetings from St. Louis, where I'm attending the annual conference of our accrediting body, the National Association of Schools of Music. This is a three-day work week, with classes scheduled through Tuesday and offices open through Wednesday. We'll enjoy the four-day Thanksgiving holiday, and then return for a four-day class week and Reading Day.

Last Monday's performance by four of our ensembles—Jazz Ensemble I, University Singers, Symphony Orchestra, and Wind Ensemble—at the NCMEA conference was hugely successful. (See Kudos below.) The logistics worked beautifully, the ensembles performed brilliantly, and the reception afterwards gave everyone a chance to celebrate. Stay tuned for likely audio files to be linked on our website!

This week's announcements are relatively brief, due to our participation at the NCMEA conference in Winston-Salem. (See Events below.) Next week, I'll provide detail about that event, which will involve approximately 200 HSoM students in performance.

Our busy performance calendar continues, as we look ahead to next week's annual conference of the North Carolina Music Educators Association, featuring a showcase concert by four HSoM ensembles. (See Events and On the Road for details.)
