Session Description
This workshop will investigate the role of digital music and media for both clients and therapists in music therapy. Participants will gain experience working with drum machines, samplers, and synthesizers used in music production in rap, electronic dance music, and other pop music styles. Clinical goals for the use of digital technology in music therapy will be explored. Modes of listening to songs used and created in therapy using digital technology will be discussed and will help participants understand clinical decision-making and expand its use in music therapy.
CMTE Objectives
Participants will review current trends of the use of digital technology in music therapy (II,A5p)- Participants will identify at least four digital instruments used in music therapy (IV, A7)
- Participants will develop at least two techniques related to listening to soundscape as a means of conceptualizing clinical process (III, B1)
