Yesterday's Convocation ceremony welcomed our new freshman class, who heard from this year's common reading author, Jon Ronson.  And today was the first day of classes for Appalachian's 2016-17 academic year.  Ensemble auditions conclude today, and all things musical have begun here in the Broyhill Music Center.

The annual HSoM Faculty Staff Potluck Picnic will occur on Friday, August 26, from 5 pm till sundown at the Hayes Estate in Blowing Rock (460 Pinnacle Drive).

Cannon Music Camp concluded last weekend with many brilliant performances by the camp's 206 students. The next weeks bring additional concerts and other activities of An Appalachian Summer Festival.
