Master
Sean Andrade, horn
Sean Andrade has been playing the French horn for 11 years and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Horn Performance at Appalachian State University, where he studies with Dr. Dakota Corbliss. He completed his Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education at the same institution.
Throughout his time at Appalachian State, Sean has served as principal horn in the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra, Appalachian Wind Ensemble, and the Appalachian Symphony Band. His performance experience includes multiple solo recitals, collaborations with chamber groups such as the Appalachian Horn Quartet, and engagements with professional ensembles including Opera Roanoke and the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra.
Sean has also been an integral part of the leadership team for the Marching Mountaineers, serving as Drum Major for one year and as Mellophone Section Leader for two years. He is currently a Graduate Assistant with the Marching Mountaineers. His teaching experience includes private lessons in Harrisburg, North Carolina, and serving as a Horn clinician for the Davie County High School MPA day in 2023. He advocates for a student-centered teaching philosophy, using a combination of fundamental skills and literature-based curriculum to make music enjoyable and engaging for all students.
