Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) is one of the few composers that everyone knows. Whether it's just the first four famous notes starting the Symphony No. 5 or it's his compositional output, Beethoven is the epitome of musical genius.
The School of Music, at the request of the student, will perform a graduation audit. The optimum time to schedule this audit is 2-3 semesters prior to the planned graduation date. The student must schedule an appointment for this audit with the Hayes School of Music Departmental Academic Advisor. The Advisor will identify the remaining coursework, proficiencies, University requirements, etc.
For an undergraduate student, a full-time load is 12-18 hours per semester or 6-7 hours in a five-week summer term. Anything above 18 hours in a Fall / Spring semester or 7 hours in a summer semester is considered an overload. Undergraduate students should take 15-18 hours per semester to graduate in four years. A first-year incoming student is not eligible for an overload. Students wanting to take an overload should complete the Overload Request in their Appalnet account. Permission will be granted within the following parameters:
