Housing and Parking
Orff course attendees may opt to find their own housing and parking or can purchase any of the following on-campus options through the registration form.
Meals are NOT included in the registration or housing fees (except for the closing dinner included with the course fee). Participants can purchase their own meals at Campus Dining, local restaurants, or grocery stores. Campus Dining has locations and options open to the public, but check the summer break schedule before visiting.
On-Campus Housing
General Housing Information
Housing Check-in: Sunday, June 14, 2:00-4:00pm.
Housing Check-out: Friday, June 26 by 8:00am (before attending the day’s classes).
Location: Orff participants (in both residence hall and apartment style housing) will be in Laurel Creek Hall, about a 5-minute walk from the Broyhill Music Center. Campus Map
What to Bring: Campus housing includes furniture but not most typical hotel amenities. Participants will need to bring their own bed linens (twin XL size), pillows, blankets, towels/washclothes, personal/room trash can (if desired), toiletries, and more.

- Some points on Housing’s website apply only to college students. For questions about which points apply for Orff participants, please contact Carey Driskell at driskellc@appstate.edu.
- Laundry facilities are available at no charge; however, participants should bring their own laundry supplies and detergent.
Residence Hall Housing
- Residence hall pricing
- $420 for a double room shared with one other Orff participant
- $720 for a single room, no roommate
- Bathrooms are suite-style, shared by two adjoining rooms.
- A shared kitchen is available for use, including a fridge, stove top, microwave, ice maker, sink, and trash can. Cooking utensils and pots and pans are NOT provided.
- Participants may bring one minifridge and microwave per room.

Apartment Housing

- $780 per person for an apartment shared by 4 occupants (2 per room)
- $1,020 per person for an apartment shared by 2 occupants (1 per room)
- Apartments include a kitchen with a full-size fridge.
- If a 4-person apartment is selected, a bedroom and bathroom will be shared with one other person. In a 2-person apartment, each person will have their own bedroom and bathroom.
- Apartment availability may vary. If we are unable to fulfill a request for an apartment, residence hall housing will be available as an alternative and the price adjusted accordingly.
Parking
There is no cost to park on campus on the weekends or after 5pm. For weekdays, these options are available:
Campus Parking Passes
- A $35 parking pass can be purchased in the registration form, covering the duration of the Orff program. This pass allows for parking in the Blue Ridge District, conveniently located between the residence hall and Broyhill Music Center. It includes the Blue Ridge Deck, Blue Ridge Lot/Stadium Lot, and spaces next to Laurel Creek Hall. Campus Map
- Participants wishing to park their vehicle on campus for only 1-3 weekdays of the program can purchase individual day passes at $6 each through the registration form.
Bus Route
Taking the AppalCart bus to campus from another location is free of charge. The Broyhill Music Center is a 2 minute walk from the ASU Peacock Traffic Light stop, a 5 minute walk from the ASU Peacock Circle stop, and a 7 minute walk from the ASU College Street Station.
